My signature piece in its most popular size. I first made a batch of these in 2013 for the tables of a friends wedding. In the years since then they have become lighter and more elegant with a softer, more refined rim. But the essence is still the same. They are called Cocoon vases, because they always make me think of the cocoon of a silk moth. The soft curves and the smooth sanded surface mean you wont want to stop holding them.

I throw each of these without measurement, starting with just the same amount of clay. That freedom gives them a visual fluidity and means that each one is unique.
